Synthesis Counseling was formed in order to provide treatment to historically "difficult-to-treat" populations. These individuals include those with BPD and/or a history of self-injury, suicide attempts, emotional deregulation. We also have a clinician who specializes in treating thought disorders. Our treatment modality follows Marsh Linehan's DBT and we employ a variety of behavioral techniques to help our clients learn to fully experience their emotions without fear and to successfully resolve multiple life issues. We offer DBT skills groups and weekly individual psychotherapy with one of our DBT trained clinicians. We are on an intensively DBT trained team.

I earned my Masters and Education Specialist degrees from Georgia State University. I have served individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder, and their family members for 6 years. I utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) in treatment for BPD. I utilize the "Stop Walking on Eggshells" workbook for family members. I accept most insurance plans, including Medicaid, and serve clients ages 15 and up. I also believe one does not have to have a diagnosis of BPD to benefit from DBT. Anyone struggling to manage emotions and with effective communication in relationships can benefit.
