The cost of BPD to society

We don't know the actual cost in dollars simply because no one has ever tried to pin a figure on it. But BPD is associated with many of the following problems in our society. However, since this underlying disorder is not addressed by either "the system" or individual counselors,  the presenting problem does not go away and the rate of recidivism is high.

We can discuss how BPD impacts physical abuse, verbal abuse, child abuse, substance abuse, divorce and separation, suicide, criminal behavior, inpatient and outpatient hospital visits, high conflict custody disputes, and conduct problems in children of all ages
