"Get Me Out of Here" is excellent. Also very confronting to
see how emotional abuse, lack of parental care and parental cover-up
campaigns cause so much harm to a child and the effects these have
so far into adulthood. The book validates much of what I heard about
my BPx's childhood when we were in couples therapy.
I
have a son and his BP mother has sole custody. It is frightening to
read parts of Rachel's story in this respect.
What
I have found especially useful is reading how Rachel's psychiatrist
handled the acting out behavior. The firm responses from the
psychiatrist in the face of intense provocation have served as a
valuable example for helping me handle my BP ex.
Not
only is this a book about BPD, it is a story of one woman's
tremendous inner strength and honesty. It is incredibly readable and
difficult to put down. This book is a must read for any BP or Non.
